Each day we ranged out for our day trips - Mesa Verde, Ute Mountain Tribal Park, Canyon of the Ancients, Hovenweep, McElmo Canyon, Four Corners. Both are maintained beautifully and we never had a problem with smoke smells, even in the smoking casino.

The casino has a smoking section and a separate non-smoking casino. I might remind travelers that you reap what you sow and your attitude is paramount in determining the level of service you will receive at ANY hotel.

Our interactions with staff on all levels was beyond pleasant. Because my birthday and our wedding anniversary occurred while we were there, the hotel and casino made our celebration so special - complete with cake, candles and singing staff at breakfast! - free play in the casino, free bingo, free birthday dinner and more! Hubby and I were treated like royalty the entire time we visited. We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel each day. Much to our delight, Friday night is the seafood/prime rib buffet. We stayed for five nights beginning on a Friday night. The views of Sleeping Ute Mountain on the west side of the hotel are stunning and the individual balconies are perfect for enjoying an early morning cup of coffee. The hotel is immaculate and the grounds, RV park and adjoining travel plaza are extremely nice. You MUST book on the internet to receive these discounted rates. Weekdays at $39.95 and weekends at $69.95. The internet pricing is an astounding value. Hubby and I were looking for lodging around the Four Corners/Mesa Verde area and thankfully stumbled on Ute Mountain Casino Hotel. You will not find a better deal and experience in the area. I highly recommend the Ute Mountain Hotel/Casino and Resort to anyone traveling to Mesa Verde and the Four Corners. The slots offered fair chances at winning. Christina, Mountain Gold Card customer service rep, was particularly helpful and went out of her way to show us how to use the slot machines and made sure our cards worked. We were given $10 in free play at the casino each day of our stay. There are even quiet hours between 10 pm and 6 am. The room was spacious, the staff courteous, professional and friendly, the service outstanding and the food an excellent bargain. There is a RV park/campground and travel center with gas station attached to the hotel. The property is very conveniently located between the 2 areas and had a much better rate than hotels in Cortez. Our family visited Mesa Verde National Park and the Four Corners Monument and found this gem hotel and casino situated on the Ute Mountain Tribal Lands.
